Monthly Meeting

President Winn called the meeting to order at 7:30pm.

 

Minutes:

A motion was made to approve the minutes as presented by K. Hansen and 2nd by T. Collins. Unanimously approved.

A motion was made to accept and pay the bills as presented by K. Hansen and 2nd by J. Andryzeck.  Unanimously approved.

 

Correspondence:  State Fire Marshal letter received noting that no incident reports have been filed.

Committees:

Capital:   The service vehicle is now in use.  Lettering still needs to be applied.

Insurance:                                Nothing at this time.

Fire Fighter Awards:   Nothing at this time.

Health & Safety:       Nothing at this time.

SCBA:                                       Nothing at this time.

Communications:     Nothing at this time.

 

Unfinished Business:

 

Barkhamsted East Station:  A truck committee has been formed.  Renovations are about 95% complete.

Pleasant Valley Pumper:  Truck committee will be looking at a couple of trucks.

Dry Hydrants:  Three are still being worked on.

State/FEMA Grants:  Pleasant Valley has submitted a grant for turn-out gear.

Riverton Addition:  Got the architect’s stamp on the plans.  There are a few changes that still need to be made.

Sexual Harassment Training:  Nothing at this time.

Memorandum of Understanding:  Copies were passed out by President Winn to each Chief for review and signatures.  When returned to him, they will be forwarded to the State.

 

New Business: 

Tax Collector’s Suspense List:  Annual Tax Collector’s Suspense List totaling $160.27 was presented by Terri Collins.

A motion was made by K. Hansen and 2nd by K. Cyr to approve the suspense list as submitted in the amount of $160.27.  Unanimously approved with one abstention: T. Collins.

Accident in New Hartford:  N. Bird discussed the need to recommit ourselves to the use of safety measures.

 

President Winn temporarily adjourned the meeting at 7:50pm to hold the Annual Meeting.

The District’s Monthly meeting was reconvened by President Winn at 8:35pm.

 

A motion was made to go into Executive Session to discuss potential litigation, with Chief Lagassie of Pleasant Valley Fire Department invited in for participation, by K. Hansen and 2nd by D. Ransom.  Unanimously approved. 
8:36pm – entered into Executive Session.

8:52pm – exited Executive Session.  No votes were taken.

 

A motion was made to adjourn the meeting by K. Hansen and 2nd by K. Cyr.  Unanimously approved.
