Following
in his father's foot steps being involved with the Pleasant Valley
Fire Department, Chief James Lagassie now leads the fire department.
His leadership skills and values are just a small part of what Chief
Lagassie brings to the members at the fire department. His
commitment to safety and training leaves no question what his values
are.
Pleasant
Valley Fire Department was founded in 1956. The original
fire department was built with donations from the residents of
Barkhamsted. The land that the fire department sits upon was donated
by William Fuller Sr, who was also a founding member. The building
was constructed by the founding members. In 1997 a long awaited
addition to the fire house was completed , giving the department
more apparatus space, a classroom, and an office for the Barkhamsted
Fire District that was much needed.
